Summer: Weekly Wardrobe 1.0
Oh Summer… you are difficult. Now hear me out - I struggle in Summer. I struggle to figure out what to wear, when in reality you would rather wear absolutely nothing. And truthfully, I just don’t think my body or my brain likes Summer that much. I know I’m a minority, but it’s the truth.
With that said, I feel my Summer wardrobe is coming together. It’s something I’ve been slowly building the last few years (Read: Warm Weather Wardrobe). Looking at these outfits come together, I feel more and more proud of the wardrobe I have created for Summer!
Pink & Red Stripe Set
I needed a good summer set. Something lightweight, breezy, comfortable, and colorful 💕 I
Red Silk Skirt
I’ve been wanting a gathered, tiered Mexican-inspired skirt. By pure coincidence, my grandma Patty Jo had some red raw silk fabric that she just gave me at the perfect time, I was planning to make this skirt. This silk was unique- rather than shiny and smooth like typical silk, it was a rough, raw silk that had texture to it.
Warm-Weather Wardrobe Additions
I’ve been grasping to create a warm weather wardrobe that I’m in love with. It’s taken me years of rebuilding and rediscovering my style. I’ve added some key pieces, yet still have work to do in order to feel like my season collection is complete.
Spring: Weekly Wardrobe 1.0
Spring to me feels like a yearly refresh button, like my soul is de-icing from the winter, and every molecule in my body is lighting up again
When I think of spring, I think of:
blooming trees, flowers poking out of the ground, sunny days mixed with random snow, frogs singing in the marsh, green mountains with melting snow peaks, bike rides, and grilling.
Pink Tulle Dress
I finished my pink tulle dress today. I feel like I should be more excited and proud. I ended with a hem that folded over and frankly, things I had to just accept as is, knowing it wasn’t worth trying to unpick + fix or cater to my perfectionism.

Sewing My Wedding Dress
I sewed my own wedding dress, and finally fulfilled a dream of mine that I’ve had since I was a little girl.
But holy shit was it one of the hardest.
Not only did it take patience, research, books, pinterest, skill and hours of searching the internet.
It’s something I’ve thought about ever since childhood. Like many of you, as a little girl, l was dreaming of my wedding, wearing a gorgeous dress, surrounded by loved ones and flowers. I always daydreamed of what the magical day would look like. But, reality has a funny way of sneaking in once you reach your raging 20s, filled with heartbreak and confusion. A wedding seems like the hardest thing to obtain, let alone an upstanding, kind man (play- Slim Pickins' by Sabrina Carpenter.)
The Frankie Scarf
Overall, I absolutely fell in love with this scarf, and was dragging my feet to give it to my sister. The process was difficult, and tedious. But the bubblyness and dimension of the scarf outmatched any hopes I had for it. It’s such a statement piece, that is so extremely unique.
Spring Wardrobe Switchover
I was dreading switching over my closet. I love my winter wardrobe. I feel like it has the strongest, most loved items. They are so comforting to me. My boots, sweaters, and coats- Gaaaah I am just so in love with you!
Fashion: My Love
I love fashion.
The ruffles, drapes, denim, sturdy, soft, loose, comforting, engaging, homely (as the British say), eccentric, shimmery, bold--fashion. The fashion that serves you in the ways you need while also expressing your true self. Fashion is emotional, and fashion is one of my true loves.
