Spring Wardrobe Switchover

I was dreading switching over my closet. I love my winter wardrobe. I feel like it has the strongest, most loved items. They are so comforting to me. My boots, sweaters, and coats- Gaaaah I am just so in love with you!

You know what I don’t love? Driving on the freeway as it’s icy and slippery and wondering if this is it - I just might die today.

So maybe it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to winter.

I built my summer wardrobe over the years to accommodate a much more modest lifestyle. My Summer wardrobe has gone through just as much as a deconstruction and transition as my religious beliefs to say the least. Clothing is emotional, and I’m not going to pretend that I haven’t really struggled feeling comfortable and confident in my summer/spring clothes.

-What is too much skin?

-How much skin do I actually feel confident/comfortable showing?

-It’s freaking blazing hot, what can I wear and how do I feel comfortable right now?

Are just a few thoughts that have gone through my mind.

As well as, since I met my now husband, Fred, we spend far more nights outside. We live downtown Salt Lake City and spend most nights biking to the grocery store, or one of our favorite bars or spots. I feel like my truest kid self riding through the city, in love with her red bike :)

With warm weather, comes different activities and different clothes.

It’s exciting, yes! Also quite honestly, it’s still a puzzle I’m trying to figure out. It’s only been 2 summers of adding new pieces to my spring/summer wardrobe, and testing the “tank top” waters.

But today, while dreaded, I enjoyed pulling my spring color palette back out and day dream of the item I can add and sew this season

What pieces are you most excited to wear this season? Me- frilly + bouncy dresses!
