MM06: Older Than I Am 🌹

These first 6 weeks of Music Monday, yall have been through it with me. When I planned my rebrand in late 2022, I did not think it would go the way it did. But let me tell you, it has been far greater than anything I had planned.
I think it’s funny, life sometimes puts you in a corner, and you can either throw a fit and give up…or throw a bunch of fits and figure out what to do next. But what I am learning, once you surrender and go with the flow, life has a way of always working out and becoming far more beautiful. I am no expert whatsoever…but I do know it’s absolutely beautiful.
A little update from me - I moved to Salt Lake City this last week. I still don’t have a car but the little kid in me is bursting with excitement to get to know my neighborhood, hang out with my pup and my love. For the first time in 2 years, I have 1 home base. I don’t have to worry about traveling from Orem to Salt Lake City every other day. I have the love of my whole world, who I get to go home to each night… And create stories that are only between the two of us. I’m so excited to dive deep into tattoo work, plan my wedding, sew my wedding dress, and do all my favorite things…While listening to amazing music along the way. I’m so excited to see what the next few weeks/months will bring me!
It has been some wild days, but I am so proud of what I have created with this first collection. And wow I’m so excited with what the next phase of my life looks like.
As I looked at all my designs as a whole, I decided I needed to end this first collection with a song called “Older Than I Am” by Lennon Stella. I’ve been in love with this song since it came out, and continue to fall more and more in love with it. It’s one of those songs that means differently to me depending on my stage of life. It’s a song about growing up, but feeling like a little kid still. Recently, by no surprise, this song cut deep. Based on the other Music Mondays, it just made sense. It’s a song you just need to read the lyrics, and listen to, just trust me.
(Side note, it’s written by one of my FAVORITE songwriters, Emily Weisband…Do yourself a favor and look her up too.)
These designs were inspired by little things in my childhood. Hope they spark ideas for you too :)
I have so many exciting projects lined up from the amazing clients (like you!) who are following along and I cannot wait to put my energy into the designs and art of each of your special tattoos.
